Steeple Chase Bike Tour
Skyler Sears of Scotland started #cycling in the Steeple Chase in 2014 when he was just 13 years old, choosing to ride the 35-mile route. He has committed in the event every year since, and in 2015 took on the challenge of 100-miles (also known as the Century ride). Skyler will be riding the #Century again for his fifth consecutive year in 2019. Now 18, he graduated this June from Parish Hill High School and will be attending #uconn in the fall. “I love the Steeple Chase because of the people, the beauty of the rides, and the important causes that it supports. There’s no feeling like cycling to make a difference in your community.”
The Steeple Chase has drawn #cyclists from 26 U.S. states! Riders have traveled from CA, AZ, CO, TN, TX, GA, MI... Why? Our vistas are spectacular, the roads are low-traffic, some routes are quite challenging, and our Century ride is legendary. See for yourself this August 17th!
Just ONE MONTH away! Register today and commit to this #charity #fundraiser. Special thanks to this year's bike shop sponsor, Storrs Center Cycle in the heart of Mansfield. The technicians from SCC will provide maintenance and bike checks throughout the day for our riders.
If you are looking for Bicycle information including a weekly bicycle calendar of the area's activities, check out the podcast, Bicycle Talk. The SteepleChase bike tour is mentioned every week in the calendar section. As "PedlinRon" says, "keep the rubber side down and the wind ant your back. Get out and ride your bike!"

#WhyDoYouRide? "Our family actively supports the beneficiaries of this ride all year round. We #cycle 20-miles, often with friends. Our participation helps #nonprofits that make a difference to our neighbors, and it gets us out of the house and into the fresh air." #fitness
Happy #July4th! It's a great day to register to ride or walk in the Steeple Chase on August 17th. www.steeplechasebiketour.org/register
Our 5-mile #walk travels the hilly streets of #Willimantic passing by beautiful Victorian homes. The rest stop is First Congregational Church on Valley Street. Stop by Willimantic Brewing Company or Grounded Coffee Company or many other area businesses. #walking #fitness #share
#WhyDoYouRide Sue Beauregard rides to support #nonprofits in her community. "In 2014, I rode the Steeple Chase towing my son Lannie on the trailer bike. It's wonderful to pass on that love of #cycling while raising money for the services of PPI, WAIM and the No Freeze Project."
Colchester Dental Group is one of our biggest contributors. Dr. Mike Babinski explains, "Every year word spreads among our patients, staff and friends – now we have 40 to 50 riders each year. Together we raise thousands of dollars for some truly great organizations.” #cycling
Home Selling Team rides every year. "None of us are cyclists, but a group of 8 agents and some mortgage people rode the 35-mile route our first year and we raised more than $3700! We try to add to our group every year to raise even more money.” #cycling #fitness #activism #fun
